The current and future thermal regulations tend to reduce the energy consumed in buildings for heating and therefore to design insulated and airtight building envelopes. Ventilation becomes essential and must contribute to the thermal regulation of buildings. There are different types of CMV for residential buildings, the simple flow, the simple flow hydro adjustable and the double flow hydro adjustable. The hydro adjustable CMVs are essential to respect the new standards. The double flow CMVs have the additional advantage of managing the temperature by rejecting air heated by the air drawn in. The EcolVTM bench has been designed to study the two types of single and double flow hydro adjustable CMV on the same support.
